Information for Victims of Crime
If you are the victim of crime, you can expect to be treated with courtesy, compassion and respect. RDCVSU is staffed with trained, caring people who offer information, assistance and support during the police investigation and throughout the criminal justice process.
While no one ever expects to be the victim of crime or involved in a traumatic event, it is important to know there is help available to you.
If you have been a victim of a crime, your first step is to call the police. They will investigate the crime and refer you to a local victim services unit for assistance. If you are in a family violence emergency, call 911 or your local police service.
