Victim Impact Statements

(Charges must be laid)

A Victim Impact Statement gives you a chance to tell the court how you have been affected by a crime.  It is up to you to decide if you want to complete one.

RDCVSU can explain the Victim Impact Statement form, but cannot assist victims in completing the form or writing the statement.

The Victim Impact Statement forms can be picked up at the RDCVSU office. Completed forms can be mailed in the pre-addressed envelope or dropped off at the court house.

Please DO NOT return completed Victim Impact Statement forms to the RCMP detachment or to RDCVSU.

Please visit the Alberta Justice and Solicitor General website and select "4 Complete an impact statement" to download a Victim Impact Statement Form or to read more about Victim Impact Statements.

Please contact RDCVSU for information on local agencies that may be able to assist you in completing a Victim Impact Statement.
