Individuals who have been a victim of a crime and / or tragedy may also be facing other challenges in their lives which may have been pre-existing or a direct result of their victimization. For some, their most immediate needs are getting a place to stay or food to eat.
Albertans may be eligible for Emergency Income Support from Alberta Works if they have been faced with an unexpected, one-time Emergency that’s no fault of their own, e.g., sudden eviction due to fire.
In Red Deer, there are several community support organizations and agencies that can assist people in obtaining housing, shelter and/or food.
